Automotive: UK Government ICE 2040 Consultation Process

The UK Government announcement on bringing forward the ban on the sale of new petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles is due imminently.

In October 2020, in-conjunction with Brunel University London and Brunel HiveAddVantage Strategy hosted a webinar, alongside a panel of industry experts, on the future of the automotive industry.

As input to the discussion, Constellation-I, provided primary research (from over 1,000 Car Drivers) that indicated 7 in 10 were either positive or neutral about bringing forward the date from 2040 to 2035 or earlier.

Update: In November 2020, the UK Government brought forward the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles to 2030 and hybrid vehicles to 2035, and launched a 10-point plan for a ‘green industrial revolution’.
